Kanchi Mahaperiyava, also known as Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Swamigal (1894–1994), was the 68th Shankaracharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and revered as the “Walking God.” Born in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, he ascended the spiritual seat at age 13 and guided the Math for over eight decades. His life embodied simplicity, compassion, and profound wisdom, harmonizing Vedic tradition with modern needs. He emphasized dharma, devotion, and service, inspiring countless seekers through discourses, silence, and personal example. Mahaperiyava’s teachings bridged ritual and realization, urging remembrance of the Divine in daily life. His luminous presence continues to guide devotees toward humility, faith, and universal harmony.
