Lord Mahavira
Lord Mahavira, the twenty-fourth and last Jain Tirthankara, lived around 600 BCE. His teachings emphasize ahimsa (non-violence), anekāntavāda (non-absolutism), and aparigraha(non-possessiveness). Mahavira believed in the eternal nature of the soul and the cycle of karma. He rejected the concept of a personal God and emphasized self-realization. Monks and nuns follow strict vows, including celibacy and truthfulness. Jainism promotes compassion, unity, and detachment from material possessions. Mahavira’s legacy continues to inspire millions, and his unwavering commitment to spiritual liberation remains profound.
