  • Rituals like Panchamakara representing all the five elements

Tantra is about accepting reality as it is. Without any raga or dvesha. Embracing and living through reality.

Upasana is performed for any of the dasa mahavidyas:

  1. Mahakali
  2. Maa Tara
  3. Tripura Sundari
  4. Bhuvaneshwari
  5. Bhairavi
  6. Chinnamasta
  7. Dhumavati
  8. Matangi
  9. Bagalamukhi
  10. Kamala

Seven Acharas ( stages of Tantra Upasana )

  1. Vedachara – Karma-Marga – The path of Action
  2. Vaishnavachara – Bhakti-Marga – The path of Devotion
  3. Shaivachara – Gnana-Marga – The path of Knowledge
  4. Dakshinachara ( Deeksha from a guru is a must ) – Dakshina-Marg – Union of all three margas ( Kriya, Iccha, Jnana )
  5. Vamachara/Kaulachara ( Deeksha from a guru is a must ) – Vama-Marga – Using Vama ( Woman ) as the symbol of Shakti
  6. Siddhantacharya – Siddha-marga – Realising the Union of Shiva and Shakti
  7. Kaulachara – Becoming one with Shiva-Shakti – Your actions are not affected by the phases of the moon or the position of the stars. You are in constant samadhi in it’s nirvikalpa form. You become a paramahamsa – a liberated being while living.

Astapashas ( the eight bonds/obstructions to be overcome and detached from ):

  1. Avidya – Ignorance
  2. Asmita – Ego
  3. Raga – Attraction
  4. Dvesha – Aversion
  5. Abhinivesha – Fear of Death
  6. Kalpa – Ilusion of world as real and permanent
  7. Karma – Cause is Effect
  8. Maya – Veil of duality
