The Natural Movement of Yoga
There’s something profoundly transformative about allowing your spirit to guide your movements—especially in yoga. It’s the most natural movement, an automatic response that draws us closer to a subtle state of being. In this space, the body and mind step aside, and we become attuned to a deeper essence that surrounds and permeates us.
Liberation Through Physical Freedom
I’ve realized that liberation begins when the body is free from contamination—when it isn’t stiff or tight in any place. These physical knots often embody imperfect, incomplete emotions. So, I let my intuition shape my practice, creating movements that release tension and unblock energy stuck within me. It’s not about adhering to a strict routine but responding to what my body needs in the moment.
The Spine as a Conduit
The spine, in particular, becomes a conduit for this release. I focus on aligning it so that thoughts and energy can flow freely toward my being. Breathing—working with Prana—is essential here. Each inhale and exhale becomes a tool to move energy in the right direction, facilitating a deeper connection with myself.
The Role of Bhakti
Bhakti, the path of devotion, naturally weaves into this process. It’s the emotional purification that complements the physical. As the body and mind cleanse, the soul—the cause of it all—begins to shine brighter. Movement isn’t just a physical act; it’s a manifestation of the seeker’s desire to free themselves from the clutches of the body and mind.
An Ever-Evolving Practice
My yoga practice is ever-evolving. Sometimes it includes sequences like Surya Namaskar or poses like Bhujangasana. Other times, it’s simply jumping up and down to activate my cells and invigorate my spirit. The key is awareness—staying focused on micro-movements, ensuring every interaction is complete, every energetic loop is closed. It’s about containing and becoming the energy itself, a vibrant ball of life force.
Liberation and Freedom
This approach to yoga is a natural process of liberation and freedom. Each movement is a moment of release, a step closer to my true self. Through my body, thoughts, and experiences, I express this journey—a personal exploration of what yoga means to me.
