Nada, Bindu, Bija, Mantra, Yantra, Tantra

Om Namah Shivaya

These six concepts represent a progressive path within esoteric traditions, particularly in Yoga and Tantra, leading from subtle sound to manifest reality and spiritual liberation.

  1. Nada is the primordial, unmanifest sound, the cosmic vibration from which all creation arises.
  2. Bindu is the point of potential energy or singularity, the concentrated source of creative power.
  3. Bija (seed mantra) is a potent, mono-syllabic sound form embodying specific deities or energies, acting as the sonic blueprint for manifestation.
  4. Mantra are sacred syllables, words, or phrases used as tools for the mind, focusing consciousness and effecting transformation through repetition (japa).
  5. Yantra is the geometric, visual counterpart to the mantra—a symbolic diagram representing cosmic truths or divine energies, used for meditation and focusing sight.
  6. Tantra is the overarching framework or “loom” of esoteric practices that weave together all these elements—sound, sight, energy, and ritual—into a systematic discipline designed to expand consciousness and liberate energy within the practitioner.

Together, they form a complete system for realizing the divine within the material world.
