Durgawati Devi

Durgawati Devi, also known as Durga Bhabhi, was a prominent Indian revolutionary born on October 7, 1907. She played a crucial role in the Indian independence movement, particularly with the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA). Known for her bravery, she helped Bhagat Singh and Rajguru escape after the assassination of John Saunders in 1928. Devi also attempted to assassinate Lord Hailey and was imprisoned for three years. She was instrumental in organizing the funeral procession of Jatin Das, which drew massive crowds. Her dedication and courage made her a significant figure in India’s struggle for freedom.
