Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati (1916-1993) was a renowned Hindu spiritual leader and teacher. Born Balakrishna Menon in Kerala, India, he initially pursued a career in journalism and participated in the Indian independence movement. After a profound spiritual quest, he took sannyasa (monastic vows) and founded the Chinmaya Mission in 1951 to spread the teachings of Advaita Vedanta and other Hindu scriptures A. He authored 95 publications, including commentaries on the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita, and helped establish the Vishva Hindu Parishad. His teachings reached a global audience, promoting Hindu spirituality and culture.
