Lachit Borphukan
Lachit Borphukan (1622-1672) was a commander of the Ahom kingdom in Assam, India, celebrated for his leadership in the 1671 Battle of Saraighat. He thwarted a Mughal invasion led by Ramsingh I, despite the Mughals’ numerical superiority. His strategic acumen and guerrilla tactics were pivotal in preserving the sovereignty of the Ahom kingdom.
