Parenting has gradually become less about raising children and more about creating an environment where they can become themselves.
Children learn far more from what they observe than from what they are told. They watch how we listen, how we respond to challenges, how we treat others, how we handle mistakes and how we live our lives.
I have come to believe that parenting is not about producing perfect children. It is about creating conditions where curiosity, confidence, kindness and responsibility can flourish.
For me, parenting is about helping children develop the skills they need to live meaningful and independent lives.
Not simply academic knowledge, but life skills.
How to think critically.
How to communicate.
How to manage emotions.
How to care for themselves.
How to build relationships.
How to contribute.
Most of all, I believe children need freedom to explore who they are.
Our role is not to live their lives for them.
Our role is to walk beside them while they discover themselves.
Perhaps parenting is not about creating who children should become.
Perhaps it is about helping them become who they already are.
