Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, born in France in 1881, was a Jesuit priest, paleontologist, and visionary thinker. He blended evolutionary science with Christian mysticism, proposing that humanity evolves toward a transcendent “Omega Point,” a final unity with God. His paleontological work included the discovery of Peking Man in China, earning him global recognition. Ordained in 1911, he served heroically in World War I, receiving the Legion of Honour. His major works, The Phenomenon of Man and The Divine Milieu, were censored during his lifetime but later influenced theology and philosophy. Though controversial, Teilhard remains a profound voice linking faith, science, and cosmic purpose.
