Faiz Ahmed Faiz
Faiz Ahmed Faiz (1911–1984), Pakistan’s revolutionary poet, fused romance with resistance, weaving verses of longing and justice. Born in Sialkot, educated in Lahore, he became a teacher, soldier, journalist, and editor. His marriage to Alys George anchored his personal life, while his political activism led to imprisonment in the Rawalpindi Conspiracy Case. Exiled in Beirut, he edited Lotus magazine, yet his voice never dimmed. Works like Naqsh-e-Faryadi, Dast-e-Saba, and Zindan-nama echo love entwined with struggle.
