Allama Iqbal

Allama Iqbal (1877–1938), poet-philosopher of the East, awakened a slumbering nation with his vision of selfhood (khudi) and spiritual renewal. Born in Sialkot, educated in Lahore, Cambridge, and Munich, he fused Persian, Urdu, and Islamic thought with Western philosophy. His poetry—Bang-e-Dra, Asrar-e-Khudi, Payam-e-Mashriq—urged Muslims to rediscover inner strength and dignity. Iqbal’s dream of a separate homeland inspired Pakistan’s creation, earning him the title “Spiritual Father of Pakistan.” His verses, like “Khudi ko kar buland itna…”, remain timeless calls to self-realization. A thinker, reformer, and visionary, Iqbal bridged tradition and modernity, leaving an enduring legacy of faith, courage, and creativity.
